Terms of Use
The short version
- Offerly is unofficial. It is not affiliated with any university, OUAC or other application service, and nothing it shows is official information.
- It is a free planning tool. It helps you organize your application; it doesn't decide anything and doesn't guarantee admission.
- Averages, deadlines and requirements can be wrong or out of date, including anything researched by AI. Always confirm with each school and in your application account. We are not liable for errors, omissions or decisions you make using Offerly.
- You're responsible for your own applications, including following each school's rules about AI and outside help.
- Your work stays yours. Don't misuse the service or upload other people's documents.
By using Offerly or creating an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Offerly. If you're under 18, ask a parent or guardian to read this with you.
1. What Offerly is
Offerly is a tool, operated as "Offerly" ("we", "us"), that helps students plan applications to Canadian universities: it calculates admission averages using each program's published rules, checks prerequisites, tracks deadlines and helps you practise supplemental applications. Offerly is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to OUAC or any university, and it does not submit applications for you.
2. Not official information, accuracy and no guarantees
Offerly is an unofficial student-built planning tool. Nothing in it is official information from any university, OUAC or government body. Averages, admission ranges, prerequisites, deadlines and supplemental details are estimates that can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and anything researched by AI may contain mistakes. You must confirm everything with each school and your application account before relying on it. To the fullest extent the law allows, Offerly and its operator are not liable for any loss, missed deadline, rejected application or other outcome that results from errors in Offerly or from using it.
Program requirements, admission ranges, deadlines and policies change often, and some information comes from public sources, student input or AI research. Offerly shows its sources where it can and marks estimates as provisional, but we can't promise that anything is complete, current or correct.
- Offerly's outputs are estimates and organizational aids, not admissions advice, and not a prediction of whether you'll be admitted.
- Always verify deadlines, prerequisites and requirements with the university and your official application account before you rely on them.
- We aren't responsible for missed deadlines, rejected applications or other outcomes that follow from using, or relying on, Offerly.
3. Accounts
You can explore the fictional demo without an account. A free account is needed to build and save your own plan. A few AI tools, such as transcript reading, AI activity review and splitting pasted questions, are part of Offerly Pro, which is currently invite-only; we decide who has access and may change this at any time. AI program research is open to every signed-in student. You agree to give accurate information, keep your password and email account secure, understand that we may not be able to recover an account if you forget its password, and tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without permission. You're responsible for activity on your account. One person per account, please.
4. AI features and your integrity
Offerly's AI tools suggest improvements to activity lists, read documents you upload, organize pasted questions and research public admission information. They can make mistakes. Treat suggestions as a starting point and check facts yourself.
Offerly's essay bank stores and organizes your own writing. It does not write, edit or score your answers, and your essays are not sent to the AI. You are responsible for the work you submit and for following each school's rules, which may limit or prohibit AI-generated content or outside help. Some programs state that violating those rules can end your assessment. Read each school's instructions, and use Offerly in a way they allow. Practice modes marked "no AI" are meant to be done without assistance.
5. Acceptable use
Don't:
- use Offerly for anything unlawful, or to harass, deceive or harm others;
- upload documents or personal information belonging to someone else without their permission;
- try to break, probe or overload the service, bypass its limits or security, or access another person's data;
- use scripts or bots to make bulk requests, scrape the service, or resell access to it;
- use AI features to generate content unrelated to planning your own applications.
We may limit or suspend access to protect the service, including by rate-limiting AI features.
6. Your content
You own what you enter into Offerly: your marks, activities, essays and notes. You give us permission to store it and to process it, including by sending it to our service providers (including the AI provider), only as needed to run the features you use and as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't use your essays to promote Offerly or sell them to anyone. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to upload what you upload.
7. Our content and software
The Offerly software, design, text and compiled program rules are ours or our licensors' and are protected by law. You may use them for your own personal planning. You may not copy, resell or build a competing service from them. Published university names and program details belong to their institutions and are shown to help you plan, with sources linked where available.
8. Availability and changes
Offerly is provided free and may change, pause or stop at any time, with or without notice. We try to keep it running, but we don't promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Keep your own backup using Export. We may update these terms, and we'll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Offerly after a change means you accept it.
9. Warranty and liability
Offerly is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost opportunities, data or admissions outcomes, arising from your use of Offerly. Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of CAD $100 and the amount you paid us (which, for a free service, is nothing). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that can't be waived.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using Offerly at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, disclaimers and liability) will survive.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be decided by the courts of Ontario, except where the law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
